You guys seem to love all the plant-based vegan posts, so allow me to introduce or re-introduce you to Naturtint, my forever go to vegan-box dye!
Reasons why I love Naturtint: it’s so good, leaves my hair healthy, feeling soft and looking shiny… It also doesn’t damage the hair, and is easy to get hold of (if you live near a Holland & Barrett – which I think is why God planned for me to live in this current abode).
Anyway, let’s get back to the ‘post’ at hand… Naturtint.
Tell me more about this plant-based hair dye
ICYMI: Naturtint is plant based, and packed with a lot of goodness! It’s ammonia-free, meaning less risk on the chemical reaction front.
Disclaimer: I’d still recommend a patch test just to be sure other ingredients don’t react.
I was born with brown hair & a red tint (which appears when out in the sun).
After bleaching my hair blonde the first time a few years ago, Naturtint was my saving grace!
My hair was literally as flimsy as an elastic band. If it wasn’t for Naturtint, I honestly might have had to shave it all off! 😱
My verdict of this plant-based hair dye
I covered the bleach blonde with dark brown, using this range. It made my hair feel healthy instantly and look incredibly shiny.
However, being someone who’s addicted to change, I bleached it again (balayage) a couple of years later.
After my hair started fading into brassy tones, relied on this to dye it back to brown. (Yes, I know about purple/blue shampoo, but it’s damaging)
To be honest, all I wanted was to get rid of my dark hair, so the greys didn’t look so contrasting when they started popping through! But, I also wanted a colour that was dark enough to cover my greys too… I thought it was impossible until now.
As per my old interchanging-self, I did balayage again towards the end of COVID lockdown, but this time it went brassy very, very quickly. Like, I’m talking within days!!
As I didn’t want to get rid of the hard work that my hairdresser done, I chose this dark blonde/very light brown dye to cover the brassy bits and it worked a treat.
After a little research, I found out that I can use it as an all over colour, covering my roots too.
So, ya gal is now GOLDEN CHESTNUT! OBSESSIVE COMPULSIVE ORDER, NOT EVEN ‘DIS-‘!!! 😍
